Garden Montessori School is accredited by Advanc-ED.
AdvancED is the largest community of education professionals in the world that conducts rigorous on-site, external reviews of Pre K – 12 schools. It was created through a merger of the Pre K – 12 divisions of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), North Central Association Commission (NCA), and the addition of the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) in 2011.
Garden Montessori School was initially accredited by SACS in the 2008-09 school year. Every five years the school conducts re-accreditation in order to maintain its accreditation status. During the re-accreditation process the administrators and teachers conduct a Self–Study to determine strengths and areas of improvement. Several sources of information are analyzed by the staff members, including test data; parent, teacher, and student surveys; and an analysis of how well the school meets each AdvancED Standard. In addition, a School Improvement Plan is developed focusing on specific academic areas. A Peer Review team, consisting of educators from other districts or private schools, is also part of the re-accreditation. The team visits the classrooms, conducts meetings with stakeholders, and reviews the Self-Study and Improvement Plan. The Peer Review team makes recommendations and determines if the school meets the standards of Advanc-ED accreditation for another five year period. Garden Montessori School was approved for re-accreditation by the AdvanceED Global Commission on June 19, 2019.
